FILM OF FILMS

To mark the first anniversary of the nation’s favourite 2‑for‑1 cinema reward, Compare the Market wanted to celebrate the UK’s love of film.

Instead of simply announcing the milestone, the challenge was to create something fans genuinely engaging for fans.  Entertainment that rewarded film knowledge and reinforced the brand’s place on the big‑screen experience.

The answer was Find the Films: a video puzzle packed with hidden references to 52 iconic movies — for obvious reasons.

Viewers were invited to spot as many titles as they could, turning the anniversary into an interactive game shared across social and earned channels, with every frame filled with visual clues and Easter eggs. Designed as a love letter to cinema, the film tapped into the cultural passion giving fans a reason to talk, play and share.

COMIC BOOK HEROES

To support Compare the Market's partnership with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the challenge was “"simples” (sorry). Elevate a standard film tie-in into something fans would actively seek out, blending the epic seriousness of the DC universe with the recognised humour of the Meerkats.

The solution was to place Aleksandr and Sergei inside a fully realised DC comic book. The first time DC Comics had entered into a custom comic deal with a British brand.

Working with DC Entertainment, the team developed a 16-page, two-part story titled Meerkat Movies: A Heroic Journey, illustrated by legendary DC artist Neal Adams and written by Tony Bedard.

A limited number of hardbound copies were made available to win, while the digital version was released exclusively via comparethemarket.com — generating national news coverage and sparking conversation across comic-book fan communities worldwide.

DINNER : THE TRAILER

To launch Meerkat Meals, Compare the Market needed to introduce its new nationwide 2‑for‑1 dining reward with the same cinematic swagger that made Meerkat Movies a cultural fixture.

So who better to bring the offer, and some of the small print, to life than a voice recognised across generations: Redd Pepper, the iconic movie‑trailer artist whose vocal cords are insured for £10 million.

Known for his deep, seismic delivery and Hollywood gravitas, Pepper had voiced countless blockbusters — but this time he stepped in front of the camera.

The creative, take the unmistakable tone of a dramatic trailer and apply it to something delightfully everyday — dinner. In the teaser, Pepper delivers a high‑stakes narration announcing Meerkat Meals, parodying classic trailer tropes while an increasingly exasperated sound engineer tries to keep him on script.
